The Answer:
Nowadays,
the increasing number of private cars is the main cause of traffic
problem in a lot of cities. To overcome it, government is supposed to
decrease the possibility of having private car by doubling the amout of
tax paid by every citizen buying a car and to use the money for
improving the quality and quantity of public transportation.
By
applying this method, people have to pay more money including for the
tax and those who want to acquire a private car will re-think before
deciding to buy it. Consequently, it will push them directly to use
public transportation. The effect of people willingness in using buses,
trains or trems brought by the government will provide a win-win
solution to solve traffic jam in cities’ streets or avenues. People get
used to using cheap fast comfortable vehicles bringing them to their
destination and authorities can show the ability in serving people. To
describe the best implementation of such an amazing policy, Singapore is
the best example. Most people know that there are no traffic problems
there.
Nevertheless, the policy of increasing the car tax
will be very awful for motor industries producing private vehicles. Less
people buy cars means less profit gotten for companies. The decreasing
of earning should be overcame by firing employees. At the end, hundred
thousands or even millions people will don’t have occupation to live
their life. Of course, this is very horrible to the country. For the
example is India, millions people there tend to do some criminals
because they are jobless
However, it is government
obligation to empower people. Encouraging public transportation so that
people don’t have to face daily traffic jams and taking care about their
occupation as well.
